Charcoal Oak bark tanned leather twist purse
The purse is crafted in beautiful full grain oak bark leather from J and FJ Baker tannery in Devon, UK.
It is hand cut and finished with waxed and burnished edges to seal and protect and entirely hand stitched with waxed linen thread using the traditional harness stitch method.
There are two pockets - the main pocket for coins or business cards and the back pocket for cards. It fasten s closed with a brass press button.
The naturally tanned leather will form a wonderful rich patina with use adding to the purses unique character.

Oak bark tannage is a long, gentle process that protects the natural fibres of the hide unlike modern tanning methods.
The tannery sources hides locally as a by-product of the meat industry and they are tanned using only oak bark and water for minimal environmental impact.
It takes 14 months to produce each piece of leather using this age old technique, making the leather stronger and more durable over time.
It is full grain leather, not corrected grain, meaning that there will be natural blemishes and stretch marks which add a lovely unique quality to each product.
